How we handle your details

Salio is a trading name of Spiral Industries Ltd, registered in Scotland, company number SC869550, registered office 4 Campbell Road, Edinburgh EH12 6DT. We are the controller of the personal data described here. For anything about your data, email hello@sal.io.
1. What we collect
Only what you choose to send us, and what is needed to deliver this site:
- what you put in the message form: your name, email, company, run-rate and your message;
- the country your message was sent from, as our hosting provider reports it;
- technical data your browser sends to load the site (such as your IP address), handled by our hosting and font providers.
If you email us directly, we receive what you send in the usual way.
2. How we use it
We use your details only to read your message, reply to you and arrange a conversation if you want one, and to keep a record of that conversation. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us, and on taking steps you ask for before any engagement.
We use software, including an AI assistant, to sort messages, filter out spam and draft replies. Blair reads every genuine message and sends every reply himself; nothing is decided about you by software alone.
3. Your data
We do not sell your data, add you to a mailing list, or use your details to contact anyone else. We do not use your message to train AI models.
4. Who processes it for us
We use trusted providers to run the site and handle messages: Cloudflare (hosting and spam protection), GitHub (secure storage of messages), Google (email, calendar and the site's fonts) and Anthropic (the AI assistant). Each processes data only as needed to provide its service to us.
5. Security
Messages are kept in private, access-controlled systems and travel encrypted. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your details safe.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your message and our reply for as long as we are in conversation or working together, and for up to two years after our last contact, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or the law requires us to keep them.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop or restrict using it, and you can object to how we use it. Email hello@sal.io. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
8. Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. The spam check on the form, when it is on, is provided by Cloudflare and may use similar technology only to tell people from bots.
9. International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK international data transfer agreement or addendum.

We may update this notice from time to time; the date above shows when it last changed.
